Pastor Francis Kehinde of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Throne of Grace Parish, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, has urged Christians to cultivate the habit of thanksgiving and appreciate God's blessings in their lives rather than compare themselves with others.
Pastor Kehinde gave the advice in a sermon entitled "Value What You Have" at the church auditorium, where he emphasized the need for the faithful to continually acknowledge God's goodness and remain thankful in all circumstances.
Making reference to 1st Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 18, which admonishes believers to give thanks in all circumstances, the cleric said a grateful heart was essential to recognizing and appreciating God's blessings.
He identified the gift of life as one of the greatest reasons to thank God, urging Christians not to take the privilege of being alive for granted.
The pastor also encouraged the faithful to value their little beginnings, noting that appreciating small achievements was important for growth and progress.
He advised Christians to cherish their relationships and loved ones while they still had the opportunity, observing that some people failed to appreciate those closest to them until they were no longer around.
Pastor Kehinde stressed the importance of appreciating every season of life, explaining that failure to value the present could prevent people from recognizing God's blessings and purpose in their circumstances.
He cautioned against comparing personal achievements and circumstances with those of others, urging Christians to remain content, thankful and focused on their individual journeys.
The cleric called on the faithful to make thanksgiving a way of life by recognizing God's goodness in every situation, valuing what they have and trusting Him for the future.
