TAMPAN commends Crescent University for Fostering Academic-Creative Collaboration.

The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ogun State Chapter, has commended the management of Crescent University, Abeokuta, for sponsoring a spectacular stage drama, “ASIRI ILU EGBA,” as part of the institution's 20th anniversary celebrations.

Speaking after the performance, the Governor of TAMPAN Ogun State Chapter, Comrade Owolabi Ajasa, described the collaboration as a landmark in the relationship between the academic and creative sectors. 

Comrade Ajasa said that the  association was committed to sustaining partnerships that would promote education, culture, and artistic innovation across the state and Nigeria.

He also commended the university's Proprietor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prince Ma’ruf Ajibola SAN, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbajabiamila, and the Registrar, Barrister Zakariyya Ajibola, for their unwavering support and financial backing of the project. 

While commending the Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Kola Adesina, for his vision and leadership as Chairman of the 20th Anniversary Committee, Comrade Ajasa acknowledged the  financial support of the university management and organizing committee, noting that the success of the production would not have been possible without their unwavering encouragement and teamwork.

Also speaking, Dr Adesina emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and practitioners in the creative fields.

In a remark, the Global President of TAMPAN, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin, lauded the Ogun State Chapter of TAMPAN for promoting the Association's reputation for excellence and professionalism. 

He noted that such initiatives would continue to project the Nigerian theatre industry on the global stage.

The historical stage play, “ASIRI ILU EGBA,” received  standing ovations for its rich cultural narrative and captivating performances, showcasing the heritage and evolution of Egbaland.

The stage play was researched and narrated by Dr. Kola Adesina,  written and directed by veteran filmmaker, Mr. Yinka  Kareem Popularly known as Y.S. Kareem, and it  featured an impressive lineup of industry icons and talented actors.
