Ogun State Roads to Get Special Traffic Monitoring from Dec 22 to Jan 5



The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, says its Christmas and New Year Special Operations, will commence on Monday, 22nd December, 2025, till Monday, 5th January, 2026,  in the efforts to ensure effective traffic management and free flow of traffic across major traffic corridors in the State.

 A statement by the Public Relations Officer of TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi indicates that  the affected major traffic corridors include: the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; Interchange-Sagamu-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway; Sango/Ota-Atan-Owode-Idiroko Highway; Atan-Lusada-Agbara-Badagry Highway; Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun-Interchange Expressway; Abeokuta-Ewekoro-Ifo-Sango/Ota Expressway; and Rounder-Abeokuta-Olorunda-Ayetoro-Imeko-Ilara Border.

According to the statement, the Special Operations will involve synergy with other safety and security agencies in the state, as well as road users through the TRACE Traffic Whistle Blower Initiative, Emergency Traffic Service and the Community Based Traffic Management Scheme, popularly known as TRACE MAYORS, against the backdrop that, safety on the roads is a collective and shared responsibility.

It directs TRACE Field Commanders to ensure that operatives are presentable, civil, professional, fair and firm, where and when the need arises, in the discharge of their duties, for the safety of the people, particularly the motoring public.

The statement shows that the TRACE Acting Corps Commandant, Commander Elias Omonayajo, felicitates the Christendom in Ogun State, on the celebration of the Christmas, and cautioned motorists against drink and drive, excessive speed and night journeys.

It also enjoins them to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations, as any vehicle that contravenes traffic infractions, during the special exercise will not be released until Monday, 5th January, 2025, when the TRACE will have ended  the Yuletide Special Operation Order.
