Crescent University Set for 5th Physics Day on June 11

 


Arrangements have been concluded for the 5th Physics Day put together by the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, department of Physical Sciences, Crescent University Abeokuta.

The event with theme " The Bedrock of Technology" will take place on Thursday, 11th June, 2026 at the Bola Ajibola Auditorium by 10am.

A statement by the host and coordinator, Department of Physical Sciences, Mr Olaniyi Akanji indicates that the Professor of Theoretical Physics, Department of Physics, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Prof Oyewande Emmanuel Oluwole will be speaking on 'The Invisible Bedrock: How Theoretical Physics Ideas Become Modern Technology'

It says that Dr. Amusa Razak Alade of the Department of Physics, Federal University of Technology, Ilaro; Former Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, will be speaking on " Physics, Technology and The Tertiary Institutions: A Promising Future"

The statement adds that  the deputy governor of Ogun State, ​Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the deputy speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, ​Hon. Ajayi Lateefat Bolanle and the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, as well the National President, Nigerian Institute of Physics, Prof. Coker Olakunle are the special Guests of Honour at the event.

It says that the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Matemilola and the Oloola of Ilara, Oba Mutiu Adedimeji Oyede-Lawal are the royal fathers of the day, the Proprietor and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Crescent University, Abeokuta, Prince Mahruf Adesegun Ajibola, is the Grand patron while Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, Vice Chancellor, Crescent University, Abeokuta is the Grand host.
