Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Intensifies Security, Restricts Motorcycle Movement on Campus

The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, has reiterated its ban on the operation and movement of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, within the institution's campus.

According the Head, Public Relations and Protocols of the institution, Mr 'yemi Ajibola, the Management says the measure formed part of efforts to strengthen campus security and ensure the safety of staff, students, and visitors.

The statement adds that the decision follows recent incidents involving the theft of Polytechnic property and growing concerns over criminal activities, including kidnapping, often linked to the use of motorcycles.

The institution also recalled its earlier directive prohibiting the entry of motorcycles, tinted vehicles, and unmarked vehicles into the campus. 

It explains that security personnel have intensified stop-and-search operations at all entry and exit points.

The statement says the Management called on members of the Polytechnic community and the general public to cooperate with security officials in enforcing the directive.

The statement announced that approved tricycles and intra-campus cab services will continue to transport passengers from the main gate to various locations within the institution.

The Polytechnic says it remains committed to protecting lives and property as part of its ongoing efforts to reposition and rebrand the institution.
