Ogun Police Assure Residents of Tight Security Ahead of Eid-el-Kabir
The Ogun State Police Command says it has intensified security measures across the state ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a statement, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Bode Ojajuni, assured residents of adequate security before, during, and after the festive period.
The Command says officers and operational assets have been deployed to Eid prayer grounds, major highways, markets, motor parks, recreational centres, and other public places to ensure safety and maintain law and order.
Police Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Units have also been directed to maintain aggressive patrols, conduct stop-and-search operations where necessary, and sustain constant monitoring within their jurisdictions.
The Command added that collaboration with community leaders and transport unions has been strengthened to improve intelligence gathering and prevent security breaches during the celebration.
Residents have been advised to remain security conscious and avoid acts capable of disrupting public peace, including reckless driving, thuggery, and cult-related activities.
The Ogun State Police Command also urged parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards throughout the festive season.
