Crescent University Students' Association Opens 2026 Da'wah Week with Public Lecture

 



The Islamic Mission for African Students' Association, IMASA, of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has officially commenced its 2026 Da'wah Week with a grand opening public lecture titled "The Unwavering Compass."



The event, held at the Bola Ajibola Auditorium of the university, attracted members of the institution's management, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rasaki Kareem.


Delivering the lecture, Islamic scholar, Dr. AbduHakeem AbdulLateef, urged Muslims to remain steadfast in obedience to Allah and to demonstrate kindness towards fellow human beings and animals.

Dr AbduLateef who spoke on the proper use of wealth, said Muslims should utilize their resources to seek Allah's pleasure, cater for their personal needs, support others, and avoid causing hardship to fellow members of society.

The scholar also highlighted the importance of recognizing Allah as the Creator of all things, noting that no one else has laid claim to the creation of the heavens, the earth, and humanity.

He  reminded participants that Allah tests mankind through blessings bestowed upon them, things withheld from them, and favours withdrawn after they have been granted.

Among dignitaries present at the event were the Chief Imam of the university, Imam Usman Qasim; Imam Taofeek Busari; Dean of the College of Information and Communication Technology, Dr. Maruf Oyelakin; Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mikhail Akindoyin; Deputy Registrar, Establishment, Alhaji Hakim Dawodu; and Deputy Registrar, Senate and Admissions, Mr. Hakim Ogunsola.
