Eight in Police Net Over Armed Robbery, Burglary in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has recorded a major security breakthrough with the arrest of eight suspects in coordinated operations across Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba and Agbado areas of the state.
Three suspects identified as Pelumi Akintande, Mojeed Sanusi and Mubarak Lateef were arrested by operatives of the Sango-Ota Division over an alleged armed robbery incident in Alasia Community.
The Command's spokesperson, Mr Oluseyi Babaseyi who confirmed the arrest in Abeokuta said the arrest were made possible through intelligence gathering, swift response by officers and support from members of the public.
Mr Babaseyi explained that in a separate operation, officers attached to the Owode-Egba Division arrested 22-year-old Damilare Makanjuola for alleged house breaking and stealing in Ofada.
He noted that investigations reportedly linked the suspect to other burglary cases within Sun City Estate, where cash, electrical appliances and personal valuables were stolen.
The Command's spokesperson said a locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and an expended cartridge were recovered during the operation adding that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects and recover additional exhibits.
He restated the command's commitment to maintaining safety and security across Ogun State.
