Ex-Security Guard, Two Others Nabbed for Alleged Murder of Former Broadcaster in Ogun

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspects linked to the death of the former staff of Ogun State Television, OGTV,  Madam Kitan Oyesiku and her Security guard, Pelumi Adetayo over the weekend at her residence.


The Commissioner of Police, Mr Bode Ojajuni made this known while speaking with Journalists at the Eleweran  Headquarters of the Command, Abeokuta.


Mr Ojajuni said the 22 year old principal suspect who was the former security guard of the deceased identified as Shodehinde Olajuwon Phillip admitted recruiting the two accomplices to carry out the henious act.


The Ogun State Commissioner of Police said the principal suspect had claimed that the motive of his action was to teach deceased a lesson over grievances relating to his former employment.




Mr Ojajuni told Journalists that the suspects had allegedly overpowered the security guard, gained access to the residence, and murdered both victims before fleeing with the deceased’s vehicle.


He noted that further searches led to the recovery of several exhibits, including a broken hammer, cutlass, wooden plank, black pen, and other items linked to the crime.


Mr Ojajuni who maintained that all suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the law, reaffirmed the commitment of the command to ensuring justice for the victims.


In a remark, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun State Council, Mr Lanre Olarewaju commended the efforts of commissioner of Police for the timely arrest of the suspects.


Speaking with Journalists the principal suspect, Shodehinde Olajuwon Phillip who denied his involvement in the incident said he heard the death of his former employer on Whatsapp.


Other suspects inked to the death of the former broadcaster included a 27 year old security guard Sakirudin Abdurahim Ayoola and a 36 year old bricklayer Sobu Obafunsho.
