Four Nigerian Wrestlers Depart for Mongolia Ranking Series

The Nigeria Wrestling Federation has intensified efforts to expose its athletes to top-level international competition as four Nigerian wrestlers depart for the third Ranking Series tournament in Mongolia.
The team includes Genesis Mercy Miesinnei in the 50-kilogram category, Ogunsanya Christianah Tolulope in the 53-kilogram division, Kolawole Esther Omolayo competing in 62 kilograms, and Ojo Damola Hannah in the 76-kilogram class.
The athletes left Nigeria on Monday night aboard Turkish Airlines.
Leader of the delegation and national women's wrestling coach, Akuh Purity, commended the President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for fully funding the team's participation and logistics.
Purity described the support as a deliberate investment in the growth of wrestling in Nigeria and an opportunity for athletes to compete against the world's best.
He added that the wrestlers are determined to earn valuable ranking points in Mongolia, improve their global standings, and secure favourable seedings ahead of future world championships.
The team has expressed confidence in delivering strong performances and making Nigeria proud on the international stage.
