Gov Abiodun urges NYSC members to uphold Patriotism and electoral integrity

Ogun State tate Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has called on members of the 2026 batch "B" stream one of the national youth service corps to embrace patriotism, discipline, security consciousness, and electoral integrity throughout their service year.
The governor made the call during the official opening and swearing-in ceremony of the orientation course at the NYSC Orientation camp in Sagamu.
Represented by the e Commissioner for Sports Development, Mr Wasiu Isiaka, Governor Abiodun described their mobilisation for national service as a major milestone and urged them to contribute meaningfully to national development.
He said the NYSC scheme remains a vital platform for national integration, youth development, and nation-building, adding that corps members have a key role to play in promoting peace, unity, and progress across the country.
The governor also encouraged them to participate actively in camp activities designed to build leadership, entrepreneurship, citizenship, teamwork, and community development skills.
On security, Governor Abiodun advised the corps members to remain vigilant and avoid actions that could expose them to criminal elements.
He also urged them to report suspicious activities to relevant authorities, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
The governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to youth empowerment and wished the corps members a rewarding and successful service year.
