Ogun Chief Judge Hails Retiring VIS Commander Babalola for Exemplary Service

The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, has commended the outstanding service record of Commander Abímbola Babalola of the Ogun State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) as he bows out of active service.

Justice Dipeolu gave the commendation during the pulling-out ceremony held in honour of the retiring officer, describing his contribution to road safety and law enforcement as invaluable to the state.


According to the Chief Judge, while the administration of justice is often associated with the courts, lawyers and the police, the stability of society also depends on the integrity and effectiveness of other public institutions such as the Vehicle Inspection Service.





She noted that Commander Babalola's duties went beyond vehicle inspections, stressing that his commitment to enforcing transport regulations helped preserve order, protect lives and promote public safety on the roads.


Justice Dipeolu said the retiring officer demonstrated qualities of patience, integrity, courage, humility and professionalism throughout his career, adding that his service reflected the highest standards expected of public officers.


The Chief Judge further stated that the respect for the rule of law begins with the manner in which citizens are treated by officers in uniform, noting that Commander Babalola's conduct contributed significantly to public confidence in government institutions.


She observed that by ensuring only roadworthy vehicles operated on the state's roads and by promoting compliance with safety regulations, the VIS officer had helped prevent accidents and saved countless lives.


Justice Dipeolu who also charged officers still in service to uphold the legacy of discipline, professionalism and dedication exemplified by Commander Babalola, urged them not to compromise safety standards for personal gain and to remain steadfast in protecting the lives and property of citizens.


Describing the pulling-out ceremony as a symbolic transition from public service to private life, the Chief Judge said although Commander Babalola was leaving active service, his contributions to society would remain a lasting legacy.
