Residents Celebrate as Governor Abiodun Commissions Tam Balogun, Luba/Stadium Roads in Ijebu-Ode

RESIDENTS of Ijebu-Ode and neighbouring communities have hailed the commissioning of the reconstructed Tam Balogun and Luba/Stadium roads by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing the projects as a major boost to transportation, commerce, and community development.

The commissioning ceremony attracted government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, traders, transport operators, artisans, and residents, who gathered to celebrate what many called a new era of infrastructural development in the town.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Honourable Dare Alebiosu, described the roads as vital economic arteries that would enhance mobility, facilitate business activities, and promote socio-economic growth across the area.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Ade Akinsanya, said the projects reflect Governor Abiodun’s commitment to delivering durable and quality infrastructure. 

Engineer Akinsanya noted that the roads were constructed to approved engineering standards and equipped with modern drainage systems and road safety features.

Residents also expressed appreciation for the projects. 

A commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Tajudeen Sanni, said the reconstruction has ended years of hardship caused by flooding and poor road conditions, making movement safer and faster.

Similarly, commercial driver Mr. Adeniji Ayinde noted that vehicle maintenance costs have reduced significantly since the completion of the roads.

A trader, Mrs. Ayike Adeaga, said the improved roads have enhanced the image of Ijebu-Ode and made the town more attractive to investors and visitors.

Market women along the corridor also reported increased customer traffic and improved access to their businesses following the reconstruction.

The Tam Balogun and Luba/Stadium roads serve as important links connecting residential areas, commercial centres, schools, worship centres, and sporting facilities.

The projects form part of the Ogun State Government’s broader agenda to improve connectivity, bridge infrastructure gaps, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the quality of life of residents across the state.
