SUBEB TASKS TEACHERS ON REGISTRATION OF TRCN LICENSE

The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has charged teachers across the State to register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting with the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Association of Primary School Teachers of Nigeria (APSTON) and Association of Primary School Headteachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON) at the Board’s Conference room in Abeokuta, Chairman of the Board, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, noted that registration and licensing of teachers is in line with national policy.
Ifede, explained that teachers who were yet to be licensed, or possess the required educational qualifications should take steps to enrol in order to qualify for certification, urging them to comply on or before 2027.
The SUBEB boss, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring that learners in public primary schools across the State could read, write and communicate effectively, calling on stakeholders to support the vision.
Also speaking, the Director, Academic and School Services, Mrs. Kehinde Anifowose, urged leaders of NUT, APSTON, AOPSHON, as well as Education Secretaries, to encourage teachers in their respective zones to register before the deadline.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Sewakanu Noah, commended the Board Chairman for the progress recorded in the Basic Education sector under his leadership, noting that TRCN processes have now been digitised, enabling smoother payment and registration procedures.
Earlier, the Director, Administration and Supplies, Mr. Femi Fatade, encouraged participants to actively contribute ideas that would help advance Basic Education in the State.
