Chief Olusegun Osoba @87: Hon Sanni Sulaimon Salutes Elder Statesman

The Liaison Officer to Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Sanni Sulaimon, has congratulated  the former Governor of Ogun State and elder statesman, Chief Olusegun Osoba on the occasion of his 87th birthday.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Sanni Sulaimon through his media Aide, Hon Jamiu Akindele, described Chief Osoba as a distinguished patriot, an accomplished journalist, an exceptional administrator, and one of Nigeria's most respected democratic leaders whose contributions to nation-building and the development of Ogun State remain invaluable.

According to Hon Sulaimon, Chief Osoba's remarkable legacy of visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to democratic ideals, and selfless service continues to inspire generations of political leaders and public servants across the country.

"On behalf of my family, the good people of Abeokuta North Local Government, and in my capacity as the Liaison Officer appointed by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, I heartily congratulate our revered father and leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, CFR, on the joyous occasion of his 87th birthday.

"Your life has been defined by courage, integrity, excellence, and an enduring commitment to the progress of Ogun State and Nigeria. Your wise counsel, exemplary leadership, and dedication to democracy have earned you a special place in the hearts of our people.


"As you celebrate this remarkable milestone, I pray that Almighty God grants you continued good health, strength, peace of mind, and many more years of fruitful service to humanity."

Hon. Sanni Sulaimon  commended Chief Osoba's enduring role as a mentor and statesman whose wealth of experience continues to provide guidance for the current generation of leaders. 

He noted that the celebrant's exemplary life remains a beacon of hope and inspiration for those committed to public service and good governance.

He wished the elder statesman a memorable birthday celebration filled with joy, happiness, and the love of family, friends, and well-wishers.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.

  The Crescent Literary Village of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has celebrated the enduring legacies of the institution's late founder, Prince Bola Ajibola, for his remarkable contributions to education, law, arbitration, literature and humanity.
