Crescent University VC Commends Mass Communication Students for Producing On Stage Magazine

The Vice Chancellor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila has commended the 500-level students of the Department of Mass Communication for successfully producing the department's publication, On Stage Magazine, describing the feat as a testament to their creativity, commitment, and professional training.


Speaking during the presentation of the magazine, Professor Gbajabiamila praised the students for their dedication and teamwork in delivering a publication that reflects the knowledge and practical skills acquired during their academic programme.


He encouraged the graduating students to sustain the passion, discipline, and determination they demonstrated while pursuing their degree, noting that these qualities would continue to distinguish them in their future careers and academic pursuits.









The Vice Chancellor also urged the students to remain committed to lifelong learning, emphasizing that age or social status should never be a barrier to furthering one's education. 

Professor Gbajabiamila described continuous learning as essential for personal growth, professional excellence, and meaningful contributions to society.


While reaffirming Crescent University's commitment to quality education, the Vice Chancellor assured the students that the institution would continue to provide an enabling environment for academic excellence, innovation, character development, and practical learning.

Professor Gbajabiamila expressed confidence that the graduating students would serve as worthy ambassadors of the university, applying the knowledge and values acquired at Crescent University to make positive impacts in the media industry and beyond.

The head of the Department, Mass Communication, Dr Kola Adesina led the team to the vice Chancellor's office along the Staff Adviser, Mr Kehinde Adekunjo.

The presentation of On Stage Magazine marked another milestone in the Department of Mass Communication's practical training, providing students with hands-on experience in news writing, editing, design, and magazine production as part of their preparation for professional practice.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.

  The Crescent Literary Village of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has celebrated the enduring legacies of the institution's late founder, Prince Bola Ajibola, for his remarkable contributions to education, law, arbitration, literature and humanity. The tribute came during Literary Day 2026 with the theme, "Celebrating the Enduring Literary Legacies of Prince Bola Ajibola."
