Evangelist Ifede Marks One Year, Unveils Achievements in Ogun Basic Education

The Chairman,  Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, Evangelist Joshua Olalekan Ifede, says his administration has laid a solid foundation for a more digitally-driven and teacher-friendly basic education system in the state as he marks one year in office.

Evangelist Ifede while reeling out his administration's achievements, said the board had distributed one thousand, nine hundred and ten electronic tablets to public basic schools across Ogun State to enhance digital learning and equip pupils with modern educational tools. 

Evangelist Ifede added that the introduction of digital lesson notes, phonics, and specialised 2D exercise books had strengthened teaching and improved literacy among learners.

The SUBEB Chairman noted that the welfare and career progression of teachers had remained a top priority, with the promotion of public primary school teachers to Grade Level 17. 

He said that the achievements of the administration are reflected in the recognition of Mr. Francis Solanke as Nigeria's best public primary school teacher, leading to his appointment as Ogun State's Ambassador of Basic Education.


Evangelist Ifede stated that regular engagement with education secretaries and other stakeholders had helped to drive reforms and ensure effective implementation of government policies.

 He also highlighted the board's commitment to recognising the contributions of retiring officers through organised retirement celebrations.

Evangelist Ifede reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining reforms aimed at improving the quality of basic education and delivering better learning outcomes for pupils across Ogun State.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
