Hon Afuape Celebrates Chief Olusegun Osoba at 87

A Member representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Afolabi Moruf Afuape, has congratulated former Ogun State Governor and elder statesman, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on his 87th birthday.

In a goodwill message, Honourable Afuape described Chief Osoba as an outstanding journalist, courageous democrat, and exemplary leader whose contributions to Nigeria's democratic journey and national development remain remarkable.

The lawmaker praised the former governor's achievements in office, noting that his administration laid enduring foundations for infrastructure development, rural transformation, and people-oriented governance in Ogun State.

Honourable Afuape also commended Chief Osoba's humility, wisdom, and commitment to mentoring younger leaders, describing him as a pillar of the progressive political family.


He prayed for God's continued blessings, good health, strength, and wisdom for the elder statesman, while wishing him many more years of impactful service to Ogun State and Nigeria.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.

  The Crescent Literary Village of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has celebrated the enduring legacies of the institution's late founder, Prince Bola Ajibola, for his remarkable contributions to education, law, arbitration, literature and humanity. The tribute came during Literary Day 2026 with the theme, "Celebrating the Enduring Literary Legacies of Prince Bola Ajibola."
