Lagos Safety Agency Encourages Nigerian Returnees to Embrace New Beginnings




The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince  Ifalade Oyekan, has encouraged Nigerian returnees to embrace hope, resilience and self-reliance as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

Speaking at a reintegration workshop organised by Co-Create NGO for returnees from Lagos and Ogun States, Prince Oyekan described their return as an opportunity for a fresh start rather than a setback.

He urged participants to acquire vocational skills, pursue legitimate means of livelihood and contribute positively to their communities and national development. 



He also advised them to avoid crime and other negative influences, stressing that discipline, perseverance and integrity are key to success.

The LNSA General Manager commended Co-Create NGO for supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of returnees, describing the initiative as an important step towards restoring dignity and promoting sustainable development.

The workshop featured presentations by experts on psychosocial support, entrepreneurship, vocational skills development and community reintegration to equip participants with practical tools for rebuilding their lives.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
