Majekodunmi Applauds NSC DG Olopade Over Strategic Media Appointment

Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association and Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, has commended the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, for appointing seasoned sports journalist and media strategist, Bayo Adegboyega, as Consultant on Media to the Director General.

Alhaji Majekodunmi in a statement in Abeokuta described the appointment as a strategic move that demonstrates Olopade's commitment to strengthening the Commission's communication structure through the engagement of experienced professionals.

He said the decision reflected the Director General's determination to reposition Nigerian sports by assembling a competent team capable of effectively projecting the Commission's programmes and achievements.


The Ogun FA Chairman noted that Bayo Adegboyega's years of experience in sports journalism, public relations, and strategic communications would enhance the visibility of the National Sports Commission and deepen engagement with stakeholders across the sports sector.


Alhaji Majekodunmi described effective communication as essential to successful sports administration, as it promotes transparency, strengthens relationships with athletes, administrators, and fans, and projects a positive image of Nigerian sports to the international community.


He congratulated Adegboyega on the appointment and expressed confidence that he would justify the confidence reposed in him by contributing meaningfully to the continued growth and development of sports in Nigeria.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
