Mouth-Watering Fixtures Await as Abeokuta All Stars Veterans League Continues

The Abeokuta All Stars Veterans League continues this weekend with another round of exciting fixtures at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto, Abeokuta.

The headline fixture will see former champions, All Stars FC Abeokuta, take on Lisabi All Stars in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. as both sides battle for crucial points.

Another highly anticipated clash will follow at 9:30 a.m., with Carwash Bombers locking horns with Africa All Stars in a match expected to produce plenty of excitement.

The upcoming fixtures come on the heels of an entertaining round of matches last weekend. 

MAPOLY All Stars produced a dominant performance, defeating Desert FC 4-0. Yaga Abraham was the star of the show with a superb hat-trick, while Aramide Owolabi added the fourth goal to complete the emphatic victory.

In another fixture, Ajani Ibrahim's solitary strike earned Ebenezer All Stars a hard-fought 1-0 win over Amolasho, securing all three points for his side.

With teams eager to strengthen their positions on the league table, fans can look forward to another entertaining weekend of veterans football in Abeokuta.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.

  The Crescent Literary Village of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has celebrated the enduring legacies of the institution's late founder, Prince Bola Ajibola, for his remarkable contributions to education, law, arbitration, literature and humanity.
