NSC Assures Team Nigeria of Government Support Ahead of Glasgow Games

The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade has reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to the success of Team Nigeria ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.


Hon. Olopade gave the assurance while addressing athletes at their training camp in Aberdeen, where they concluded the final phase of preparations for the Games.


He said the Federal Government's provision of a world-class training environment demonstrates its determination to ensure that Nigerian athletes are adequately prepared for the competition.


The NSC Director General urged the athletes to remain focused, disciplined and patriotic throughout the Games, while advising them to avoid any actions capable of tarnishing the country's image.


Hon. Olopade also conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's goodwill to the team, expressing confidence in their ability to make the nation proud and stating that the President looks forward to receiving Team Nigeria after the Commonwealth Games.
