Ogun CP Strengthens Community Policing During Visits to Idiroko, Ilaro

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Mr Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the Command's commitment to community-centred policing and stronger collaboration with stakeholders across the state.

During a familiarisation tour of the Idiroko and Ilaro Area Commands, the Commissioner met with traditional rulers, local government officials, security agencies, community leaders, academic authorities and police personnel to strengthen existing security partnerships.

At Idiroko, Mr Ojajuni expressed condolences over the death of the Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom and urged residents to continue to promote peace and unity. 

He also advised members of the public against spreading false information capable of creating panic and stressed that traditional festivals must be observed in line with the law and with respect for citizens' rights.

The Police Commissioner commended the cooperation among security agencies under Operation Kosaye, describing it as a model for tackling crime through joint operations.

At Ilaro, he paid a courtesy visit to the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, who praised the professionalism of police officers and pledged continued support for security efforts.

Mr  Ojajuni also visited the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, where he assured the institution of sustained police presence and intelligence-led patrols. 


He later inspected the 84 Police Mobile Force Squadron Base before concluding the tour at the Ilaro Area Command.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Ogun State Police Command's resolve to strengthen community policing and strategic partnerships to enhance public safety across the state.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
