Renowned Poet Samuel Ogunyinka Celebrates Mother, Mrs. Felicia Ogunyinka, on Her Birthday

Renowned Nigerian poet and literary figure, Samuel Ogunyinka popularly known as Psalmist has felicitated his  beloved mother, Mrs. Felicia Ogunyinka, as she marks another year of God's faithfulness today.

In a heartfelt message, Samuel Ogunyinka described his mother as a woman of uncommon grace, unwavering faith, resilience, and immeasurable love whose sacrifices and steadfast commitment to family have remained a guiding light throughout his life and career.


The literary figure noted that Mrs. Felicia Ogunyinka's nurturing spirit, wisdom, and enduring values have played a pivotal role in shaping the person he has become, inspiring not only his personal journey but also his passion for literature and humanity.

"Today, I celebrate not just a mother, but a remarkable woman whose life has been a shining example of selflessness, integrity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to God and family. Your prayers, encouragement, and sacrifices have been the foundation upon which many of my achievements stand. I am eternally grateful for your love and guidance," he said.

The celebrated poet prayed for God's continued blessings upon his mother, asking for long life, sound health, divine protection, abundant joy, and greater fulfillment in the years ahead.

"As you celebrate this special day, I pray that the Almighty grants you many more beautiful years filled with peace, happiness, and overflowing grace. May your days continue to be crowned with honour, good health, and the love of family and friends. Happy Birthday, Mum."

Samuel Ogunyinka also described her mum as a virtuous woman whose kindness and positive influence have touched many lives.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
