Yayi Youth Vanguard Pledges 400,000 Votes for Senator Adeola's 2027 Governorship Bid

The Yayi Youth Vanguard has pledged to mobilise more than four hundred thousand votes in support of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola's governorship ambition in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general election.

The pledge was made during a youth sensitisation programme and the inauguration of hundreds of Polling Unit Marshals across the Ogun East Senatorial District.

Convener of the Yayi Youth Vanguard and Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, Comrade Olamide Lawal, said each marshal has been assigned the responsibility of mobilising at least seventy-five young voters through grassroots sensitisation and advocacy.

Comrade Lawal explained that the initiative is aimed at encouraging greater youth participation in politics and leadership, stressing that active involvement of young people is essential to preparing the state for emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence and technological advancement.

He urged Nigerian youths to see political participation as a civic responsibility and contribute meaningfully to shaping the future of Ogun State and the nation.

Also speaking, political stakeholder, Otunba Bankole Olugbile, called on leaders who will emerge from the 2027 elections to give greater attention to youth inclusion in governance, noting that young people make up the largest segment of Nigeria's population.

Other speakers at the event, including representatives of the Yayi Youth Vanguard, local government officials, and party leaders, encouraged youths to support progressive leadership while calling for increased opportunities for young people and women in governance.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
