YPM Youths Stage Solidarity Walk for Tinubu, Abiodun, Adeola in Abeokuta

The Youth and Students Wings of the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) have organised a solidarity walk in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to reaffirm their support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The participants also expressed support for Governor Abiodun's reported senatorial ambition and Senator Adeola's governorship aspiration on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The peaceful procession commenced at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, and moved through major streets in Abeokuta.


 It attracted youths, students, party supporters and APC leaders, who carried banners and placards while chanting slogans in support of the political leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Convener of the movement, Armstrong Tope Akintunde, said the event was organised to encourage greater participation of young people in the democratic process and to reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of the APC.




He said Senator Adeola had impacted many youths across Ogun State through empowerment initiatives and developmental projects, expressing confidence that the lawmaker would emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election.

Akintunde also stated that the reforms of President Bola Tinubu, alongside Senator Adeola's record in empowerment, infrastructure development and constituency projects, had continued to attract the support of many young people.

Also speaking, the Co-Convener of the movement, Mr. Kehinde Odeneye, described Senator Adeola as the leader of the group and called on residents of Ogun State to continue supporting policies and programmes aimed at promoting economic growth, job creation and improved living standards.

The Youth and Students Wings of the movement said the solidarity walk was peaceful and orderly, adding that it was organised to promote unity, encourage political participation and sustain youth engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
