Eid-ul-Maulud: PDP Ogun Celebrates with Muslim Faithful, Prays for Peace

 


The Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has felicitated Muslim faithful across the state and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Maulud celebration.

In a statement, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Dr. Abayomi Tella, said the celebration provides an opportunity for Muslims and other Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of compassion, tolerance, sacrifice and service exemplified by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The PDP Chairman, who spoke on behalf of the State Executive, Elders Council, party candidates, leaders, stakeholders and members, called on the people of Ogun State to continue to promote peace, unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of religious differences.

He stressed that the lessons of the Prophet should go beyond celebration and be reflected in community living, good leadership and the collective effort to build a better society.

The party also prayed for the peace, prosperity and renewed hope of Ogun State and Nigeria, asking Almighty Allah to accept the prayers of the faithful and bless their homes.

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
