Elega/Saje Progressives Support Group Offers Free Healthcare to Residents

 





The Elega/Saje Progressives Support Group has organised a free medical outreach for residents of Elega and Saje communities as part of its efforts to develop the development.

The exercise provided beneficiaries with medical consultations and basic healthcare services as part of efforts to promote healthy living and complement existing initiatives aimed at improving access to healthcare.

The convener of the group Prince Idowu Adekunle,  noted that the medical outreach was one of several initiatives it had planned as part of efforts to support development and improve the quality of life of residents of Elega and Saje communities.

He explained that the interventions was designed to give back to the community and contribute to positive social change.

Also speaking, he Chairman,  Elega/Saje Progressives Support group, Mr Oladimeji Famuyiwa noted the group was neither a political organisation nor a pressure group, but a platform of professionals and individuals who were born, raised and nurtured in Elega and Saje.






He said that the group's activities are driven by a desire to contribute to the development and wellbeing of the people.


Contributing, the Public Relations Officer of the group, Mr Mohammed Ajibode, also explained that their support for the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola is based on what they described as his vision and antecedents, which they believe are in line with the development objectives of the group.

Community stakeholders including,bDr Damilola Famuyiwa and Olajide Amoje  commended the group for the gesture, describing the medical outreach as a welcome intervention that would contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of residents.

Beneficiaries of the outreach, including Olaosebikan Amusan, Mrs Julianah Sangoyomi and Sherif Jimoh described the initiative as timely and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to access basic healthcare services free of charge.

During the outreach, residents, including children and adults, benefited from basic medical services such as vital signs checks, medical counselling and medication where necessary

Ogun Opens Registration for 2027 Hajj Exercise

Aina Obasanjo  The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, calling on intending pilgrims to begin preparations for the pilgrimage. Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, made the announcement while speaking with journalists at the Board's office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Alhaji Ajibola said prospective pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of eight million naira, pending the official Hajj fare to be announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He urged interested applicants to complete their payments early to secure a place for the pilgrimage, noting that the registration exercise is expected to close on or before September 2026. Alhaji Ajibola advised intending pilgrims to visit the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the New Secretariat, Block B, Governor's Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, or contact the Board through its official telephone lines for further enquiries.
