Ogun SWAN Congratulates Kunle Oluwusi on ISI Distinguished Fellowship
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State Chapter, has congratulated veteran sports journalist and Manager of Poly Radio, Ogun State Polytechnic, Mr. Kunle Oluwusi, on his conferment as a Distinguished Fellow of the Sports Institute Educational Trust Ltd/Gte (ISI).
In a statement in Abeokuta by the SWAN chairman, Comrade Michael Azeez-Ogunsiji described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Mr. Oluwusi's decades of distinguished service to sports journalism, broadcasting, youth development and the promotion of Sports-for-Development.
The conferment was announced by the Advisory Board and Management of the Sports Institute Educational Trust Ltd/Gte, under the leadership of its Founder and President, Professor Oluwaseun Omotayo.
According to the Institute, the honour recognises Mr. Oluwusi's distinguished career as a veteran sports journalist, his unwavering belief in Sports-for-Development, his service as a former Chairman of SWAN Ogun State Chapter, as well as his contributions to capacity building and critical-thinking techniques through television and radio sports programmes.
The association commended Mr. Oluwusi for his long-standing commitment to using sports journalism and broadcasting as platforms for education, inspiration, youth mobilisation and professional development.
Ogun SWAN noted that the conferment of the Distinguished Fellow of ISI (DFISI) is not only a personal achievement for Mr. Oluwusi but also a source of pride to the association and the entire sports-media community in Ogun State.
The association believed that the recognition will further strengthen Mr. Oluwusi's role in promoting sports as a vehicle for education, personal development, critical thinking, youth empowerment and societal advancement.
The association wished him greater accomplishments as he continues to contribute to the development of sports journalism, broadcasting, education and Sports-for-Development in Nigeria.
