The Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Hon. Taiwo Oludotun, popularly known as Twinny, has called for gender equality, equal opportunities and access to quality education for every girl child.
Hon. Oludotun made the call in a message to commemorate the 2026 International Day of the Girl Child, in which he celebrated the resilience, brilliance and potential of girls to contribute meaningfully to societal development.
He urged girls to embrace love, unity and self-confidence, while shunning unhealthy comparisons that could undermine their self-esteem.
The forestry commissioner emphasised that every girl child is unique and has a purpose to fulfil, encouraging them to recognise their individual strengths and pursue their aspirations without feeling inferior to others.
Hon. Oludotun reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower girls and promote inclusive development.
